This 1 day IOSH Managing Safely refresher course is for people who have previously completed their IOSH Managing Safely course. The latest version of this course aims to take participants beyond what they were taught on the Managing Safely course so that they will be more able to participate in advancing an organisation’s health and safety performance.

Delegates are no longer required to refresh their certification every 3 years. It is now the case that employers should identify for themselves how often their managers require refresher training.

In-house courses start at £600+VAT with additional charges per delegate for certificates etc. and for travel and accommodation as and when required. Individual places on open courses are priced per person and are as stated on the course calendar.

IOSH Managing Safely Refresher Course Details

Managing Safely collage

The IOSH Managing Safely course is intended for managers and supervisors at every level, in any sector and in any organisation. It has been designed to help people who have responsibility to manage health and safety in their undertakings. In addition to the diverse health and safety content this course also delivers a module on protecting the environment.

IOSH recommend that this training is refreshed once every three years and this course provides for this.

Course content:

Thinking back. This is a quick look at 7 modules that you covered in your original IOSH Managing Safely course. This no longer includes environmental management because this has been removed from the Managing Safely course.

Leadership. In this module we discuss the importance of good leadership and how it influences health and safety performance. We also take a look at the essential principles of good practice and business sustainability.

Plan. This module covers the development of a health and safety policy, the setting of targets and objectives, communication of the policy and legal requirements. In this part of the course we discuss a number of recent changes ih health and safety law.

Do. Risk profiling, risk assessment, risk control and hazard groups are just some of the topics covered in this module.

Check. This is all about measuring performance and analysing data. This module also includes information on auditing.

Act. Reviewing performance and achieving continual improvement is the ultimate goal and the ultimate module of the Managing Safely Refresher course.

Attendees will need to have passed an IOSH Managing Safely course within the last 3 years.

Delegates are required to pass a short multiple choice question paper to gain certification.
