Management and Employee IOSH Courses
If you are looking to provide your managers and employees with safety training then we have just what you need.
Our trainers don’t just deliver IOSH training courses, they deliver understanding, encourage people to take an active role in their health and safety and inspire them to practice what they have learnt through their course. We measure our results through analysis of assessments but we measure our success through the feedback from our past delegates. We have had many reports of their achievements in improving their work environments, reducing accidents and cost savings.
IOSH Courses for employees
We know that getting people fully involved, having fun, and learning by doing, is the best way to achieve health and safety training success.
Every year, nearly 120,000 employees go on IOSH health and safety courses. That’s because IOSH courses are suitable for people in every sector and any organisation.
This training can be delivered in facilities at your workplace, at a venue close to your workplace or at our training suite at The Old Courthouse, Dukinfield in Greater Manchester.
These courses are based on training best practice, rather than UK legislation, and can be delivered both nationally and internationally.
The excellent IOSH Managing Safely course will help managers to understand their responsibilities and manage risks in their workplace. Delivering an IOSH Working Safely course to employees enables them to contribute to a safer workplace and can help to introduce a common health and safety ethos and language throughout your organisation.
Who are IOSH?
The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) is the Chartered body for health and safety professionals. With more than 37,000 members, they’re the biggest professional health and safety organisation in the world.
Lynwood and IOSH share many principles and ideals, for example both Lynwood and IOSH are committed to cutting down the number of people who die or are made ill by what they do for a living. Across the world, two million people die every year as a result of health and safety failures. In the European Union alone, someone dies every three and a half minutes.
IOSH are also the voice of the health and safety profession, and they lobby governments on policy and law. They accredit qualifications for their members, give guidance, develop resources and run courses and events to help them in their work.
IOSH and Lynwood recognise that health and safety isn’t just down to the experts. We both work with a range of organisations to raise awareness – and standards. IOSH also develop training for schools and businesses, and run campaigns that are relevant to millions of working people.
They were founded in 1945, when the Institution of Industrial Safety Officers (IISO) was formed from a division of the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents.
In 1981, IISO was renamed the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health. The following year, the Institute of Municipal Safety Officers merged with IOSH.
In 2002, IOSH were awarded a Royal Charter. Three years later they began to award Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner status to recognise individual professionalism and a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
IOSH has had charitable status since 1962.
IOSH work with hundreds of different national and international organisations to increase understanding, raise standards and develop partnership projects.
We at Lynwood believe that IOSH make a real difference to the safety of people whilst at work. We also believe that providing your managers and workers with IOSH approved training is the best way to improve your safety performance and to realise the associated benefits such as reducing waste and increasing profits.
